Iona Liu is a feminist, painter, and computer programmer. As the only child of a single mother, she is interested in the relationship between caregiver and care receiver. She seeks to redefine the concepts of fertility and reproduction across traditional and technological mediums, promoting women's life choices as independent entities. Recently, she held a solo exhibition at Hüten Gallery in Shanghai, China, and is currently exploring the use of feminine symbols from archaeology and burial culture to comment on the statist politics in present-day society.
